We call these retreats “Immersions” because that is exactly what you will do: step away from the outside world and fully immerse yourself in movement, community, and epic live DJ sets.

Hosted by Bernice, DTM founder, and special guest members of the DTM Team, each Immersion brings dancers together in a beautiful location, connected by a central theme, to create something new and magical each time. We begin our days with dance, with space for connection, exploration, rest, and plenty more dancing — always to gorgeously prepared sets.

This is conscious, free-form dance, often called ‘Ecstatic Dance’. There is no choreography or prior experience required, simply a willingness to move, explore, and be part of the experience. It is the group field, created by everyone who shows up, that gives each Immersion its transformative power.

Lineage

This Immersion explores the rich constellation of traditions around Magusto, Pão-por-Deus, Samhain, Halloween, All Souls’ Day, Día de los Muertos, Allantide, Hop-tu-Naa, and Allhallowtide — traditions that, in different ways, honour our ancestors through celebration, community, fire, food, and ritual.

And what more potent way to honour them than to dance?

Together, we will dance over the threshold: remembering and releasing, honouring those who came before us, crossing into the unknown, and welcoming what is yet to come. We are all part of the great human lineage — everything our ancestors dreamed and prayed for.

Come prepared to dance indoors and outdoors, by day and under the stars, as humans have done for millennia.

Bring two talismans: one representing your past lineage, and another symbolising your hopes for the lineage of the world moving forward.

It will not be the same without you. 

To preserve the intimacy and depth of the experience, the retreat is capped at 40 participants.
