Small, cool festivals in Slovenia

Here’s a small list of festivals and events in Slovenia:

Punk Rock Holiday Punk’s not dead! It may be on vacation though. If you wanna indulge yourself in guitar distortions, anarchy, crowdsurfing and beer, this festival supports your dreams. It will be held in August.

Slovenian Hula Hoop Convention Polypro hoops, dance hoops, led hoops, fire hoops…whatever you want will be waiting for you in this convention. Hooping while sailing through a calm river on a pedal boat may look like an extreme case of ADHD but it should be very fun. A good opportunity to work on those hoop isolations because you know that it can always be better. It is held in August.

Floating Castle Festival seem to have a fairy, relaxed and magical atmosphere. As you can guess from the name of the festival, event will offer a lot to stimulate your imagination. It looks like music is an essential part of the festival. It is a family friendly festival and will be held in August.

 

Bigger Festivals in Slovenia

Other festivals and events in Slovenia that we can’t necessarily vouch for include:

Mladi Levi is a contemporary theater and dance performances festival, which welcomes international artists. For 10 days, you can see performances all around Ljubljana. It is held every end of the summer.

City of Women – International Festival of Contemporary Arts is a trans-disciplinary event. Every year, they choose a common topic and create art linked to it. It is usually held in October.

Days of National Costumes and Clothing Heritage Festival or as locally known, “Costumes”, exhibits historical clothing and artifacts. It is known as the biggest ethnological festival in Slovenia. It is usually held between June and August.
