Kick off your shoes and join your fellow tango enthusiasts at Contango Festival Freiburg. The festival merges contact improvisation and tango to form one thrilling dance style. Enjoy live music while you learn from experienced guides on an open dance floor.

The festival organisers say:

“Here all dancers are invited to be dancing together with time and space in one place! Contact improvisation and tango will meet here and merge into one dance style. You are invited to be there in July. This is about discovering and developing both dance styles in combination as an individual dancer. Experienced teachers are invited to accompany different ways of connecting dance styles with intensive lessons and workshops. 

Contango is danced barefoot. It can be danced alone, in pairs, as a trio. Come as you Are. Everything is wonderful and possible! As an experienced and a beginner, there is always a lot to discover. 

Lightness and trust are built from this connection and allow us to play with giving and taking weight. We explore possibilities to glide into light and delicate lifts from the axis of walking. Playful elements and spontaneity alternate with bodywork and fine tuning, leading us to ways of dancing, free and connected, intuitive, surprising, and diverse.”
